We are delighted to announce the successful conclusion of our recent ESN-HSN joint Meeting 2025, which brought together a vibrant global community of researchers, clinicians, and early-career scientists. With 330 registrants from 32 countries across the world, the meeting provided a dynamic platform for the exchange of cutting-edge research and the fostering of international collaboration. The scientific program featured:
• Two prestigious plenary lectures delivered by Nobel Laureate Professor Thomas C. Südhof and leading neurodegeneration researcher Professor Giovanna Mallucci, offering profound insights into synaptic biology and therapeutic approaches to brain repair.
• A Special Neurochemistry Lecture by the distinguished Professor Moussa Youdim, highlighting seminal advances in neuropharmacology and neuroprotection.
• The Bachelard Neurochemistry Award Lecture by Professor Anthony J. Turner, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the field of neurochemistry.
• An impressive lineup of 25 symposia encompassing 108 talks, showcasing cutting-edge research across a broad spectrum of neuroscience topics, including genes to behavior to drugs, astrocytes, neuroimmunology, extracellular vesicles, mitochondria dynamics, ageing, networks and beyond, brain metabolism, axonal transport , brain resilience and brain disease, sex and brain health/disease, neurodevelopmental syndromes, RNA dynamics, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, proteinopathies, cognition, stem cells, brain lipids, cannabinoids and endocannabinoids, signal transduction mechanims, mental health, myelin.
• Two Young Scientist Award Lectures and Two Young Member Symposia (20 presentations), celebrating the innovation and excellence of emerging leaders in the field.
• Vibrant poster sessions with 150 presentations, providing a forum for detailed discussion and engagement.
• A highly successful ESN Young Scientists Steering Committee Workshop, fostering mentorship, career development, and community building among early-career researchers.
We extend our deepest thanks to all speakers, session chairs, poster presenters, and participants for their invaluable contributions and enthusiastic engagement. We also thank all our sponsors, especially the major sponsors of this event, the International Society for Neurochemistry and the International Brain Research Organization.
This meeting has not only advanced scientific knowledge but also strengthened the collaborative spirit that drives our field forward.
